KAWASAKI DEBUTS NEW KX(TM)250F AT GLEN HELEN MOTOCROSS

Competition at the final event of the 2005 AMA Motocross Championship will take on a new look this weekend when Kawasaki debuts the new 2006 KX(TM)250F at Glen Helen Raceway Park. Team Monster/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki rider Grant Langston, from Lake Elsinore, Calif., has been selected to pilot the new bike.
"I'm excited to get the first chance to race the new KX250F," said Langston, who has been testing the bike this week. "Kawasaki has made a lot of great changes to the bike and I am impressed with the progress."
Kawasaki is very proud of the new KX250F and believes it is one of the best production motocross bikes the company has ever made. Notable improvements include the all-new aluminum perimeter frame, new Showa suspension components, redesigned engine with increased compression and enhanced oil flow. Additional improvements consist of a higher capacity radiator and all-new air box design. The new KX250F is also competition ready with Renthal handlebars and an aluminum skid plate as standard equipment.
"I can't wait to get out on the track at Glen Helen," Langston said. "This bike is really powerful and easy to control. I'm ready to get it out there and see how we stand up against the competition."
Langston, who recently captured the 2005 THQ AMA 125 East Supercross championship, has had a roller coaster motocross season thus far. After suffering a dislocated ankle during a heroic win at Hangtown, he soldiered on to win two more races but endured an unfortunate string of bad luck by mid-season. Now, Langston is back on track after scoring three top-five finishes going into the final round at Glen Helen. He has an excellent chance to see the podium once more aboard the new 2006 KX250F.
